Simple Traditional Art Kolams are a symbol of auspiciousness. It is a form of painting that is drawn using rice flour or white rock powder often using naturally or synthetically coloured powders in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telugana and most parts of Kerala and some parts of Goa, Maharashtra, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and a few other Asian countries. It is a Hindu belief that the designs applied with rice flour at the entrance to a home, invites Goddess lakshmi into the household.
